CREATIVE EUROPE

The EU invests € 1.46 billion in the audiovisual and cultural sector through the Creative Europe Programme (2014-2020), which replaces previous Culture and Media programmes. The programme supports cultural sector actions with two key priorities:

  • Preserving and promoting cultural and linguistic diversity and the European Cultural Heritage
  • Strengthening competitiveness in the cultural and creative sectors.

In this context, they support activities promoting and encouraging the development of European identity, transnational cooperation, innovation and creativity, capacity building, access to international markets and the creation of new audiences.

 

GENERAL PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

  • To support the ability of the European cultural and creative sector to operate transnational
  • The promotion of the transnational circulation of cultural and creative works and bodies to reach new audiences within and outside Europe
  • Enhancing the financial and cultural capacit,y particularly small and medium-sized enterprises and organizations
  • Supporting transnational cooperation at the policy level to stimulate policy making, innovation a, audience building and new business models

 

WHO MAY APPLY?

Organizations with legal status for two years (from the deadline for submission of applications) based in one of the eligible countries listed below whose work is in the field of culture may apply for funding in the subprogramme Civilization. Activities dedicated exclusively to the audiovisual sector are not eligible under the Culture subprogramme. Audiovisual activities are supported through the MEDIA sub-program. However, audiovisual activities may be eligible under the Culture sub-program as long as they are supportive of activities devoted to the cultural and creative sectors.
